Celebrating THE NEPALESE DAY OF THE Dog

at Dalemain

On 11th September 2011 Kathmandu Contemporary Arts Centre joined with Community Action Nepal to hold a charity dog walk at Dalemain near Ullswater to celebrate Kukur Tihar, the Nepalese Day of the Dog. The walk was launched by Sir Chris Bonington CBE and the Countess of Dundonald. After the dogs had been garlanded and given a red tika on their foreheads and their humans given a Buddhist scarf, we walked up the Holmes to Dacre, where the dogs came into the church to be blessed.

A big thank-you to Robert & Jane Hasell McCosh for generously allowing us to use Dalemain for the walk.
