Manish’s work is inspired by a childhood of hardship, social domination, cast discrimination, torture, disease and poverty. His sees his work as the voice of the speechless which he tries to represent in a contemporary way. In life he has struggled to exist within the traditional social boundaries, the discrimination in society and the traditional perspective of cast still dominant in Nepal today, especially within the lives of ‘the untouchables.’
A controversial contemporary Artist in Nepal. He was born in poverty in 1985, in a village in the western Himalayas. After passing his School Leaving Certificate he did an Intermediate Level in Fine Art at the Nepal Fine Art College in Kathmandu. The he did a Bachelor Degree in Fine Art at Kathmandu University. In 2011 or his final show he had a solo exhibition at the Siddhartha ARt Gallery and was then awarded a KCAC scholarship 2011 - 2012. In 2013 he was selected for the Image Art Festival, Occupy Utopia, in Denmark. He is hoping to start a MA in Fine Art at West Dean College in Autumn 2014.
The theme of his work takes is contemporary social issues, social boundaries, social discrimination, and torture and traditional perspective still dominant today. Sometimes by his works creates the social upheaval against to the traditional perspective thinking and torture.
